About Us

Jordan grew up in Liverpool, NY. Dr. Jordan Maxwell earned his bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from SUNY Oswego. He received his doctorate of chiropractic and a certification in whole foods nutrition at New York Chiropractic College. Dr. Maxwell earned his second doctorate in acupuncture and Chinese medicine at Pacific College of Health Sciences in San Diego. During the course of his education he has received primary care physician training. Dr. Maxwell has taught nutrition, biochemistry, and physiology at the doctoral level; as well as been involved in academic research in genomics, diabetes, and psychology. He has received additional certifications and education in Usui Reiki, QHHT (hypnosis), and CPR.

Dr. Maxwell's educational journey was informed by his life experience. Growing up, he navigated Crohn's disease, Celiac, and ADHD through the conventional system; scopes, biopsies, testing, and medications that offered temporary relief but came with their own tradeoffs. It wasn't until he encountered Chinese medicine as an undergraduate studying biochemistry that things began to shift. Under the care of the late Dr. Bridget McCabe, whose treatments sparked a healing journey he hadn't thought possible, their conversations during sessions opened a door he didn't know existed; and made clear that Chinese medicine was the direction his life was meant to go. Through acupuncture, herbal therapy, and functional medicine, he found what years of prior treatment hadn't offered. He went on to complete two demanding doctoral programs, without the need for medication, as the healthiest he had ever been.

Education and Certifications

Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

3,000–3,600 hours of doctoral training spanning Traditional Chinese Medicine, biomedical science, pharmacology, lab diagnostics, and 800+ hours of hands-on clinical internship. We learn to read your labs, understand your medications, and know when to refer. Chinese medicine teaches practitioners to read the body through pattern diagnosis: recognizing dysfunction in its earliest stages, long before it meets the threshold for a Western medical label. Where conventional medicine often intervenes at disease, we're trained to intervene at imbalance. That means identifying subclinical findings, connecting symptoms that seem unrelated, and building a treatment strategy rooted in where the body is heading; not just where it already is.

And for those already living with a diagnosis, especially those who've been told there's nothing left to try, Chinese medicine often has an answer. Our pattern-based approach allows for a level of individualization that standardized protocols rarely offer. Two people with the same diagnosis may need entirely different treatment, and this framework is built for exactly that.

Doctorate in Chiropractic

4,200–4,800 hours of doctoral training in anatomy, neurology, orthopedics, radiology, and clinical diagnosis; with 1,000+ hours of supervised patient care. Chiropractic is a full doctorate that most people underestimate. At its core it is the study of how structure governs function; how the spine, nervous system, and musculoskeletal framework either support or sabotage everything else happening in the body. In practice, this means we don't just treat pain. We assess how your body is organized, how your nervous system is communicating, and how structural dysfunction may be the missing variable in a health picture that hasn't fully resolved. Paired with Chinese medicine and functional lab work, chiropractic becomes something much larger than an adjustment — it becomes a lens for whole-body diagnosis.

Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry

Dr. Maxwell's foundation in biochemistry enhances his understanding of the body’s biochemical processes, allowing for a more integrative treatment plan that combines science with holistic practices.

Our Philosophy

Mission: Elements of Health bridges the precision of modern medicine with the depth of ancient indigenous healing traditions; honoring both without abandoning either. We read the bloodwork and the pulse. We understand pharmacology and plant medicine. We meet people in their physiology and guide them toward a more complete healing; one rooted in the wisdom their lineage carried and the knowledge of every tradition they now share space with.

Vision: A world where healing is whole and no tradition is superior; where laboratory science and ancestral wisdom sit at the same table. Where people can trace the healing practices of their homelands, learn from the land beneath their feet, and draw from the knowledge of every culture they walk alongside.

Actions: Elements of Health and Wellness exist to be a global bridge for that remembering and that meeting; through clinical excellence, immersive retreats, accessible education, and a community built on the radical idea that the medicine and ability to heal was never lost. It was always here.
